New Poll Shows Strong Voter Support for Government Spending Reform and DOGE Initiative
WASHINGTON – A new national poll conducted by Arc Insights on behalf of Vote 4 America reveals broad bipartisan support for reforming government spending and backing the work being done by the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The survey, conducted between February 7-8 among 1,004 registered voters (39% Democrat, 36% Republican, 25% Independent), highlights widespread voter concern about federal budget priorities.
Key findings from the poll include:
• 28% of voters believe the federal government has had their best interests in mind as it decided how to spend taxpayer dollars.
• 82% of voters believe waste, fraud, and abuse is a serious problem inside the government.
• 60% of voters support cutting the total amount of money the government spends.
• 65% of voters support redirecting foreign aid to help balance the U.S. federal budget.
• 62% of voters support the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) efforts to reduce waste, fraud, and abuse.
• 59% of voters favor identifying additional areas for government spending cuts.
• 65% of voters trust state and local education staff to decide how best to spend funding for local schools.
“These results send a clear message to Washington – the vast majority of Americans want serious action on fiscal responsibility,” said Stephen Aaron, an advisor for Vote 4 America. “Voters across the political spectrum support smart reforms that rein in wasteful spending and prioritize accountability. The overwhelming support for the activities of Department of Government Efficiency – regardless of public support for Elon himself – demonstrates the public’s demand for a streamlined, cost-effective government.”
The poll comes amid growing national debate over government spending, foreign aid allocations, and strategies for reducing the federal deficit. The findings suggest strong voter enthusiasm for pragmatic, results-driven approaches to fiscal reform.
